Spinal therapy is the cornerstone of The Hill Center's practice. Chiropractic manipulation or a chiropractic adjustment is intended to straighten and relieve stress on the musculoskeletal system, particularly the spine, in the belief that a healthy spinal cord or nervous system affects the health of the entire body. Dr. Brent Hill and his staff provide a full array of chiropractic therapies that relieve chronic illness and pain in combination with other therapies.
Patients who have back pain or neck pain caused in whole or in part by a damaged disc may be helped by spinal decompression therapy. These conditions include herniated, protruding or bulging discs, spinal stenosis, sciatica, or pinched nerves. The Hill Center is supplied with the latest equipment that allows the back to return to a relaxed state in which damaged discs may return to their natural, healthy condition.
Interferential therapy uses a mid-frequency electrical current for treating muscular spasms and strains. The current produces a massaging effect over the affected area at periodic intervals, and this stimulates the secretion of endorphins, the body's natural pain relievers, thus relaxing the strained muscles and promoting soft-tissue healing.
Diathermy is a therapy that produces heat in body tissues for therapeutic purposes by high-frequency currents that are insufficiently intense to destroy tissues or to impair their vitality. Diathermy is used in treating chronic arthritis, bursitis, fractures, gynecologic diseases, sinusitis, and other conditions.
Paraffin therapy is one of the most effective methods of applying heat to relieve pain and stiffness in your hands and feet. At The Hill Center we use paraffin therapy to relax muscles, relieve stiffness, and stimulate circulation. The warm paraffin also moisturizes for healthier looking, softer skin. This is a wonderful heat therapy if you're suffering from arthritis, bursitis, tendonitis, heel pain, muscle strains or chronic joint inflammation. Or, just enjoy the soothing warmth and relaxation they provide.
In 2001 this amazing therapy was added to The Hill Center practice. Hyperbaric Oxygen (HBO), is the administration of oxygen to the patient while in a pressurized chamber. Along with the major uses of HBO (wound care, crush injuries, carbon monoxide poisoning, burns, spider bites, Lyme disease, etcetera) we have had spectacular results with Autistic children as well as children with cerebral palsy, elderly patients who have had recent strokes and or poor circulation, and local athletes looking for a speedier recovery from injuries or for natural performance enhancement.
Colonics are a cleansing of the entire length of the colon through water therapy. Our professional hydrotherapist uses medical equipment to introduce water into the rectum, and our process minimizes physical discomfort, and there is no exposure to unpleasant smells or waste material. Colonic therapy is much more thorough than a self administered enema, and it is known to prevent constipation and illness through a thorough cleansing of the bowels.
Massage is one of the oldest healing arts. Today, the benefits of massage are varied and far-reaching. As an accepted part of physical rehabilitation programs, massage therapy has also proven beneficial for many chronic conditions, including low back pain, arthritis, bursitis, fatigue, high blood pressure, diabetes, immunity suppression, infertility, smoking cessation, depression, and more. And, as many millions will attest, massage also helps relieve the stress and tension of everyday living that can lead to disease and illness.
